On May 1, a Robinson R66 lifted off from the heliport at Whistler, British Columbia, 75 miles (120 kilometers) north of Vancouver, to embark on a globe-spanning adventure.
At one point, midway through their journey around the world, Whistler resident Ruben Dias and his co-pilot Mischa Gelb were ready to abandon their quest to complete the fastest equatorial antipode circumnavigation in a helicopter.

The Rolls-Royce M250-C47E engine has been selected to power the new Bell 407GXi helicopter, providing enhanced safety and reduced pilot workload, plus increased reliability and maintainability. The new engine will offer additional capability and lower maintenance costs for the iconic Bell rotorcraft.
